Module 1: Learn about Chronic Pain

Learn about the complex brain-body causes of pain, and how that information can help you better manage your own pain.

 

STEP 1: WATCH "EDUCATION ON CHRONIC PAIN"

Learn more about chronic pain, it's triggers, and about the various tools you will be acquiring through this program.


STEP 2: WATCH "THEORIES OF PAIN"

This video will help you understand the causes of pain and how actions influence it. 


STEP 3: SCHEDULE A CONVERSATION WITH YOUR COACH

Set up a time to connect with your coach over the phone.  The coach will help you set overall goals for the Chronic Pain Program, review the first two videos, and answer any questions that you have.


STEP 4: NOTE DOWN THINGS THAT INCREASE AND DECREASE YOUR PAIN

Use this form to note things that trigger and help your pain  - please also see a list of common pain triggers and helpers under "Additional Resources"


STEP 5: GOAL SETTING EXERCISE

After watching this week's videos and speaking with your coach, please take a moment to jot down your goals for the next few weeks in this form.
